The journey to the antipodes begins. International flight bound for Auckland, the gateway to New Zealand. Overnight aboard while the world seems to slip away behind you as you head to the other end of the planet.
On arrival in Auckland, personalised assistance and private transfer to the hotel. The first contact with New Zealand unfolds between Waitematā harbour, green hills and the relaxed atmosphere that defines the city. Depending on arrival time, you can stroll along Viaduct Harbour, take in the skyline from the Sky Tower or enjoy a first dinner facing the sea as you start to feel the slow pace of Aotearoa.
Today you will discover Auckland on a full-day experience combining urban elegance with wild nature. Your guide will take you through some of the city's most emblematic places before heading towards the west coast. Within just a few kilometres, the landscape changes completely: the Waitākere Ranges appear, covered in humid rainforest, giant ferns and centuries-old kauri trees. The day culminates in Piha, a black-sand beach pounded by the Tasman Sea. Highlight of the day: the contrast between Auckland's sophistication and Piha's wild power.
After breakfast, private departure south crossing the green Waikato hills. The first major stop is Hobbiton, the famous film set of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. You then continue to Waitomo, one of the North Island's most magical places. Its underground caves, lit by thousands of native glowworms, create a genuine vault of stars beneath the earth. After the visit, your driver takes you to Rotorua, one of the country's most fascinating geothermal regions. Rotorua is a land of steam, sacred lakes and Maori tradition. During the day you will discover geothermal landscapes where the earth seems to breathe through geysers, fumaroles and mineral pools in unreal colours. In the afternoon you will experience a cultural encounter at Te Puia, with a welcome ceremony, haka, traditional chants and Maori dinner. Highlight of the day: a night of fire, ancestral culture and traditional cuisine.
Today your private transfer will take you south, stopping at Lake Taupo, the largest freshwater lake in Oceania. The landscape begins to transform and heralds the arrival at Tongariro, New Zealand's oldest national park and a World Heritage site. As dusk falls you will do a guided pre-sunset walk, a gentle but profoundly scenic route that allows you to take in the golden light over volcanoes, ancient lava flows and waterfalls. Today you will experience one of the country's most beautiful sea crossings: the ferry between Wellington and Picton across the Cook Strait and the Queen Charlotte Sounds. On arrival at the South Island, private transfer continues to the Marlborough wine region before reaching Nelson and Kaiteriteri. Highlight of the day: the sailing towards the South Island between channels, green mountains and protected waters.
A day dedicated to Abel Tasman, one of the most luminous and beautiful national parks in New Zealand. The experience combines sea kayaking, hiking, sailing and a picnic lunch. You will paddle between transparent waters, small islands, sea caves and golden beaches ringed by native vegetation. After breakfast, your driver will take you into the alpine interior of the South Island. Stop at Lake Matheson, celebrated for the perfect reflections of Mount Cook and the Southern Alps. The route continues across the Haast Pass between waterfalls, glacier rivers and rainforests until the landscape opens onto Lakes Hāwea and Wanaka.
An adventure day in one of the most spectacular settings of the journey. The Siberia Experience combines a scenic flight, hiking and jetboat in Mount Aspiring National Park. You will fly over the Southern Alps taking in glaciers, waterfalls and remote valleys before landing in the isolated Siberia Valley. Private departure towards Queenstown crossing some of Otago's most scenic landscapes. Before arriving, a stop in Arrowtown, a former mining town now turned into a charming village. One of the great days of the trip. Departure in a small-group luxury minivan to Milford Sound along the spectacular Milford Road. On reaching the fjord, you board a cruise between vertical walls, waterfalls and rainforests that seem suspended over the water. The return to Queenstown is by helicopter over fjords, glaciers and mountains. Highlight of the day: Milford Sound from land, water and air.
A day to enjoy Queenstown at your pace. You will be able to stroll beside Lake Wakatipu, take the cable car up to Bob's Peak or discover the Gibbston wine region. Luxury Atelier tip: we recommend booking a special farewell dinner with views over the lake.
Private transfer north crossing the Mackenzie Basin until arriving at Aoraki/Mt. Cook, the highest peak in New Zealand.
