The journey, day by day

Day 1

Arrival in San Francisco · Gateway to the Pacific

Departure on international flight to San Francisco. On arrival, private transfer to the hotel and first contact with one of the most elegant and cinematic cities in the United States. The hills, the historic trams, the Victorian houses and the fog rolling in over the bay create an atmosphere very different from the rest of California.

Day 2

San Francisco · Alcatraz, historic neighbourhoods and the bay

Full private day to discover San Francisco from an elegant, highly visual perspective. The day covers Fisherman's Wharf, North Beach, Chinatown, Union Square and the famous sloping streets of the city. Also included is a private sailing experience across the bay to see the skyline, the Golden Gate and Alcatraz island from the water.

Day 3

San Francisco · Yosemite National Park

Private departure to Yosemite National Park. Little by little, the urban landscape gives way to forests, mountains and great granite walls. Yosemite represents the purest essence of the American national parks: monumental waterfalls, giant sequoias, glacier valleys and a nature that conveys scale and silence.

The Ahwahnee Hotel
Day 4

Yosemite · Granite, waterfalls and giant forests

Full day to explore Yosemite with a private naturalist guide. The tour includes Yosemite Valley, Tunnel View, Bridalveil Fall, El Capitan and Half Dome, plus gentle walks adapted to the rhythm of the trip. Depending on the season, you can also visit Mariposa Grove to see the giant sequoias. Luxury Atelier tip.

Day 5

Yosemite · Death Valley

The route continues to one of the most extreme and fascinating landscapes in the United States. The mountains slowly disappear and the desert begins to dominate the horizon until arriving at Death Valley. The feeling here is completely different: absolute silence, infinite horizons and an arid beauty that feels almost unreal.

Day 6

Death Valley · The most beautiful desert in the West

Full day exploring Death Valley. Badwater Basin, Zabriskie Point, Artist's Palette and the Mesquite dunes reveal some of the most surreal landscapes in the United States. The contrast between salt flats, rock formations and eroded mountains turns the park into an utterly spectacular visual experience.

Day 7

Death Valley · Zion National Park

Departure to Utah crossing increasingly reddish and dramatic landscapes. Arrival at Zion marks a new change of setting: enormous vertical walls, narrow canyons and unexpectedly lush vegetation.

Amangiri
Day 8

Zion · Bryce Canyon · The great amphitheatres of the West

A scenic day through Zion and Bryce Canyon, two of the American West's most striking parks. Zion surprises with its vertical walls and paths carved into red rock. Bryce Canyon, by contrast, feels like a fantasy setting full of stone spires and natural amphitheatres sculpted over millions of years.

Day 9

Bryce Canyon · Monument Valley

The route continues to Monument Valley, one of the most cinematic landscapes on the planet and the setting for countless Westerns. The great reddish formations emerge in the middle of the desert, creating a sense of immensity hard to put into words.

Day 10

Monument Valley · Grand Canyon

Departure to the Grand Canyon, probably the great natural icon of the United States. The first views from the South Rim are utterly overwhelming. The scale of the landscape defies any photograph and changes constantly with the light.

Amangiri Extension
Optional helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon at sunset
Day 11

Grand Canyon · Las Vegas

Last views of the Grand Canyon before continuing toward Las Vegas. Arriving in the city after so many days of nature creates a fascinating contrast: lights, architecture, energy and monumental hotels emerging in the middle of the desert.

Four Seasons Las Vegas
Day 12

Las Vegas · Return to Spain

Free time until the private transfer to the airport to catch the return flight. The American West is left behind as a succession of impossible landscapes, endless roads and some of the most spectacular national parks on the planet.
